Tuesday’s ceremony marked another royal encounter for Erivo — she previously curtsied and shared a laugh with King Charles during a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art event in May 2024. The New Year list included 1,157 recipients across many fields and named other entertainment figures such as Idris Elba and Ellie Goulding.
