Bishop Michael Curry quoted Martin Luther King Jr.; Meghan omitted the word "obey" from her vows. The Kingdom Choir sang "Stand By Me," the couple exited to Etta James, and their first dance was to Wilson Pickett.

Receptions and surprises

The Queen hosted a 600-guest lunchtime reception with Elton John performing. An intimate 200-guest evening at Frogmore House featured a dress change for Meghan, Idris Elba as DJ, George Clooney mixing drinks and lighthearted games among friends.

Personal touches

Harry wore his Blues and Royals uniform; Meghan’s bouquet included Diana’s forget-me-nots and was later placed on the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. Their cake was lemon with elderflower and their rings broke some royal tradition.
