Her service and passions

Known to friends as "Sully," Sullivan joined the British Army in November 2020 and the King's Troop in June 2021. The Ministry of Defence described her as an outstanding, fearless horsewoman and role model who had ridden since childhood, competed in showjumping and took part in high-profile ceremonial duties including Royal Gun Salutes and the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth.

Investigation and reaction

The event continued with The King's Troop display omitted. King Charles, who was attending the show, was later said to be greatly shocked and saddened and will convey his personal condolences. Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses and are working with the MoD, the Defence Accident Investigation Branch and show organisers to establish the facts.
